At only 5’7”, Andrew “Hawk” Hawkins’ 7-year NFL career was as improbable as his post-NFL successes in media, business, and entertainment. If you ask the man himself, he’d tell you it was all part of the plan.
From the moment Hawk achieved his dream of making it to the NFL, he’s been thinking about and working toward his second act. He earned a master’s degree from Columbia University while playing and began setting the groundwork for a career in sports after retirement.
Hawk began his media career at ESPN but has since hosted a number of shows on the NFL Network, Amazon, Discovery, Uninterrupted, Amazon Music, and Roku. Behind the camera he has written and produced award-winning content and was Executive Producer of Hair Love, which won the 2020 Academy Award for Best Animated Short.
His post-playing career also extends to the boardroom: Hawk was Director of Business Development for Lebron James and Maverick Carter’s media and marketing company, SpringHill Entertainment, for several years before starting his own company with former teammate Troy Jones.
The company, StatusPRO, is Hawk’s main focus these days. Backed by some of the biggest names in sports and entertainment, StatusPRO is a sports technology and gaming company that combines player data, AR, and VR to create a revolutionary suite of training and gaming products.
